In 2015, a consortium of the experienced and
highly successful support services companies who
were previously their own legal entities, united
together to form PNG Mining And Petroleum
Hospitality Services Ltd.

Today, PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality
Services Ltd. is operating in multiple locations
throughout the nation. Serving an average of
over 8,500 meals per day.
Quality catering and hospitality services are the

extensive and fixable range of quality non-food
related services to our clients.

requirement services to Oil Search Limited-the
largest oil and gas exploration and development
company in Papua New Guinea.

exploration programs.

version of the systems documents are being

applicable statutory, regulatory, contractual
requirements and all our health and safety

Our supporting systems, policies plans and

requirements for specific operational activities
associated with the delivery of the contracted
services required. They are reviewed regularly

Mr. Peter Heno the founding Chairman of PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Limited, a
landowner company he envisioned and established with the landowner groups along the oil pipeline
operated by Oil Search Ltd. now known as Santos.
Mr. Heno holds a certificate in Tropical Agriculture from Popondetta Agriculture College. He
received his Diploma in Land Administration from the University of Technology PNG and a diploma
in Public Policy Management from the University of Papua New Guinea. Mr. Heno holds a Bachelor
of Business Administration from the Fredrick Taylor University, USA.
After completing his studies, Mr. Heno joined Chevron Niugini Ltd. and worked as a Lands and
Community Relations Officer from 1992 to 1995. He then became the General Manager of Yasuku Oil
& Gas Investment Ltd. from 1999 to 2002. Mr. Heno was twice appointed as the Treasurer and
Executive Officer of Namo' Aporo Landowners Association which he currently serves. Mr. Heno also
serves as the Managing Director of Kutubu Catering Services Ltd. since 2008.
Prior to his appointment as Chairman of PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Limited, Mr.
Heno served as a Director of Namo' Aporo Investment Ltd. and has been the Chairman of Namo'
Aporo since 2017. Since February 2022, Mr. Heno is a member of the Australian Institute of
Company Directors.
NAKEI
TOM
Tom Nakei is the Chairman of Kutubu Catering
Limited of Southern Highlands Province.
Though not attaining a primary education, Mr. Nakei’s resilience, passion and commitment to his
people has marked him as a reputable community leader.
Out of the total sixty-one oil heads found in the Kutubu project area, twenty-four are found on Tom
Nakei's customary land thus, automatically securing his position as Chairman of Kutubu Catering
Limited as nominated by his clansmen.
Before he was approached by Oilsearch Limited to create a new catering company, that is now
known as Kutubu Catering Limited, Mr. Nakei was instrumental in establishing the landowner
company Yasuru Oil and Gas that are owned by the five clans of Kutubu.
Today, Kutubu Catering Limited has a forty-seven percent share in PNG Mining And Petroleum

Mr. Nakei hails from the remotest parts of Kutubu neighboring the
Gulf Province. He has been the Kutubu Catering Limited Chairman
since 2004.
Completing his year 10 in the early 1970s Mr. Umai, took his first job before the independence of
Papua New Guinea at the Department of Physical Planning.
He was seconded to then establish Papua New Guinea's Housing Commission that is presently
known as the National Housing Corporation.
Mr. Leslie Umai voluntarily resigned from public service to assist his people in negotiating for the
Gobe project. He was the key person who negotiated for the current two percent royalty payment
for all landowners in project areas across Papua New Guinea.
Mr. Umai is currently Chairman of the Erave Special Development Authority whilst also serving as
Chairman of Gobe Catering Services Ltd., a position he has held since 1996.

LESLIE
Leslie Ope Umai is the Chairman of Gobe Catering
Services Ltd. in Gobe, Southern Highlands Province.

Mr. Umai proudly represents the five clans of Gobe that own Gobe Catering Services Ltd. of which
he belongs to the principal landowner of the Gobe project area.

WONUHALI
Mr. Wonuhali Olawe completed his formal education at
Awaba High School before venturing to work with
Pasuwe Limited.
He then went on to join Gobe Catering Limited in whereupon he was sent to Sydney, Australia to
undertake business studies.
Currently, Mr. Wonuhali Olawe is a Director of PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd. it
was during his directorship with Gobe Catering Limited when the other landowner groups came
together and established PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd.

PETERSON
Mr. Peterson Pipi currently serves as the General
Manager of Gigira Development Corporation (GDC). A
landowned company of the Hides gas field.
Mr. Pipi attained a certificate of Tropical Agriculture from Popondetta Agriculture College in 1984 He
then later attained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Papua New Guinea in 1994. He
also completed a Diploma in Economic Policy analysis from the National Research Institute of
Papua New Guinea in 1995.
Mr. Peterson Pipi is a member of PNG Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of

PALIWA
Mr. Paliwa Olago is currently a Director at PNG Mining
and Petroleum Hospitality Services Limited.
Mr. Olago hails from one of the newest provinces in Papua New Guinea, formed from three
Southern Highlands districts in 2012, specifically neighboring in Hides Gas Field.
Mr. Olago’s determination and perseverance brought him to be leading with over 30 years of
expertise in directorship which inspires his community as a transformational leader.
Mr. Olago was also the founding father of the holding companies, Gigira Development Corporation
(GDC) and Gigira Camp Services Limited (GCSL).

MUREPE
ABRAHAM
Abraham Murepe is the Chairman of Kikori Oil
Investments Limited in Gulf Province. He has been the
Chairman of Kikori Oil Investments Ltd. since its
inception.
Hailing from the Kikori oil pipeline area, Mr. Murepe completed grade ten at Kerema High School in
1978 and immediately after, was recruited in the Papua New Guinea Defense Force.
After serving two years in the army, Mr. Murepe returned to his village and began engaging in
youth and community work before landing a senior management position with the Kutubu project
that began in the early 1990s.
With his community and youth coordinator experience, his clansmen appointed him as Chairman of
Petroleum Resouces Kutubu, currently managed by Mineral Resources Development Corporation.
Under his Petroleum Resources Chairmanship, Abraham Murepe has signed off on many major
national investment projects such as the five star Hilton Hotel in Port Moresby.
Mr. Murepe is also a member of the Board of Directors of Gobe Freight Services Ltd. where Kikori
Oil Investments Ltd. has a forty percent shareholding.

ARUA
AIA
Aia Arua is the Deputy Chairman of Kikori Oil
Investments Ltd. of Kikori in the Gulf Province.
Hailing from the Kikori district of Gulf Province, Mr. Arua joined the PNG Mining And Petroleum
Hospitality Services board in 2015.
Completing year 10 at Kerema High School in 1986, Mr. Arua began his career as fisheries officer
whereupon he committed himself to voluntary community work. Then in 1989, he was appointed
secretary of the United Church circuit.
With his solid community standing, he was appointed by the Kikori Council Chamber as Chairman of
a landowner company in 1991.
Mr. Arua was instrumental in establishing a shelf company, Tiare 12, which later progressed and
evolved into Kikori Oil Investments Ltd which represents the five main tribes of Kikori.
Mr. Arua currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of Kikori Oil Investments Ltd. a position he has
held since the company's inception in 1991.

NATHAN
Nathan Nason joined the PNG Mining and Petroleum
Hospitality Services Ltd. Board in late 2019 He was
appointed by the KutMor Ltd. board.
Mr. Nason graduated with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and had previously attained a
Certificate in Building Construction. Nathan has an extensive experience in construction and project
management, strategic planning and business management.
Nathan was part of several project teams on the PNG LNG Project and later Oil Search Special
projects team across the Hela and Southern Highlands Province.
He later became KutMor's Operations Manager in 2017 before moving to Port Moresby as KutMor's
General Manager in 2019.

With KutMor having a 35% share interest in PNG Mining and Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd.,
Nathan is also the current General Manager for KutMor Limited.

KOPOL
Mr. Pepe is a current Director for PNG Mining And
Hospitality Services Ltd. and has held this position since
2017.
He attained his secondary education level from Saint Joseph's Tari Highschool from 1985-1988
From 1992 to 2000, Mr. Pepe has worked in various companies.
From 2000, he has been self-employed and than later elected as a Chairman for Mananda
Landowners Association representing different forums from 2005 to 2022.
He has also been a Director and Shareholer trustee from 2013 - 2022 for Kutmor Limited.

JONATHAN
EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT TEAM
Mr. Jonathan Corotan is the current Chief Executive
Officer of PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality
Services Ltd.
He is a Certified Practicing Accountant and was given the recognition in the year 2000 for attaining
the highest examination result in the CPA PNG Business Law Exam. He is a fellow member of the
Institute of Public Accountants in Melbourne, Australia and a member of the Chartered Institute for
Securities and Investments in the United Kingdom.
Apart from his affiliations and memberships from accounting organizations. Mr. Jonathan Corotan
is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a full time member of the
Governance Institute of Australia and the Australian Institute of Management.
In his early working career, Jonathan Corotan was employed by Deloitte Touche Tomatsu under the
Assurance and Advisory Division as Audit Manager and was in-charge of various audit client
portfolios in both large and medium sized companies. During his employment with Deliotte, he was
privileged to be seconded to work with Deloitte offices in Australia where he gained vast experience
in the field of auditing for the furtherance of his skills and for his professional development.
Mr. Corotan was the former Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of Eurest Group of
Companies in Papua New Guinea and held the position for 15 years. He was also a director of
various Eurest companies in Papua New Guinea up until 2015 when Compass Group UK and
Australia decided to close their operations in Papua New Guinea, after which he resigned from his
directorship and from his position as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of the Group.

He is an accountant by profession and holds a Master's Degree from the University of New England
in Sydney, Australia and a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy from the Divine Word University in
Madang, Papua New Guinea.
MANAGEMENT TEAM
Despite the closure of Eurest Operations in Papua New Guinea, his fighting spirit and optimistic
outlook spurred him to convert what seemed like a bleak situation into a golden opportunity to
assist the landowners from the Kutubu, Gobe, Hides and Kikori regions in the formation of the
company now known as PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd. after successfully
acquiring majority of the contracts left by Eurest. In terms of educational accomplishments, Mr.
Jonathan Corotan received various academic achievements awards for his excellent academic
performance in the degree studies.
He was given the Gold Medal Awardee in the Accountancy Degree Program of the Divine Word
University. He is also the recipient of the James Barnes Award for Outstanding Academic
Performance in 1999. Mr. Corotan was also the recipient of the Bank of Papua New Guinea Award
and the Silver Medal Award for Outstanding Academic Performance.

CURRY
STEPHEN
Born in the United Kingdom, Mr. Stephen Curry
completed school in his hometown of Alton Hampshire
before embarking on a career in Hospitality after
completing his 7061 and 7062 qualifications with the City
and Guilds of London Institute and a diploma in Hotel
and Catering Management.
Stephen then proceeded to work in the United Kingdom for a multinational British hotel and
restaurant company providing large-scale hotel, leisure and hospitality operational services support
throughout the South of England.
After emigrating to Australia in 2001, Stephen expanded his experience in the hotel and hospitality
management industry in Central Queensland in order to expand his knowledge and experience in
large scale and remote location service support operations before joining Compass Group, the
world's largest contract food service company in 2008.
While with Compass Group, Stephen relocated his place of employment to Papua New Guinea in 2011.
He held various senior positions throughout the country. In October 2015, Stephen joined the team of
PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd. a proudly Papua New Guinea owned company
where he has held the position of Chief Operations Officer.

In 1990, he proceeded to become a qualified member of the British Institute of Inn keeping, British
Institute of Environmental Health Officers and a certified Hotel and catering trainer in 1995.
NANA
FRED
Mr. Fred Nana is a Certitied Practicing Accountant and
Associate Member of CPA PNG. Originally from the
Central Province, Mr. Nana has more than 20 years of
experience in the Camp and Catering Industry.
Throughout his career in finance, Mr. Nana started work as a Finance Officer, then as a site project
accountant. He went on to become a finance Manager and group accountant before becoming the
Chief Financial Officer of a successful Landowner company - PNG Mining and Petroleum Hospitality
Mr. Nana was one of the few successful candidates selected by Ok Tedi Mining Limited straight
after graduating from school. He started his career as a Finance Officer in the mining company
based in Tabubil, Western Province. After three years of service with Ok Tedi Mining Limited, he
secured a position with Poon Catering Limited as a site Project Accountant. Later on, Poon Catering
Limited was taken over by Eurest South Pacific Limited who changed their company name to Eurest
(PNG) Catering Services Limited.
It was in the late nineties when Eurest PNG) Catering Services Limited handed over the Ok Tedi
Mining catering contract to Fubian Catering Services Lid, a 100% landowner company. Mr. Nana
became the first national account with a team of four staff member in cor Mrance team to witness
the bith and growth of Local Landowner Company - FIS.

He has worked with camp and catering companies contracted to some of the major mining, gas
and drilling companies in the country such as Ok Tedi Mining Limited and Oil Search (PNG) Limited
now known as SANTOS, Talisman and High Arctic Energy Services Ltd.
Since the changeover Mr. Nana played a significant role together with Eurest site management to
set-up on site the financial structure and procedures, implementation of accounting software and
training as well as the payroll since Fubilan Catering Limited was a stand-alone entity.
In 2007, Mr. Nana resigned from Fubilan Catering Services Ltd. and moved back to Port Moresby,
securing a position as the company accountant for Western Tug & Barge Limited, an Australian
Shipping Company contracted to Ok Tedi Mining Limited and was with the company for well over
three years.
He was later offered the role of Finance Manager by the Chief Financial Officer of Eurest PNG
Catering And Services Ltd. Mr. Nana remained with the company until they closed their operations in
Papua New Guinea in 2015.
In October 2015, when PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd. was incorporated as a
100% landowner company contracted to Oil Search (PNG) Limited now SANTOS group. Mr. Nana
was retained as the Group Accountant, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. In mid-year 2021 Mr.
Nana was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer for PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality
Services.

JOE
Joe Siune Angra obtained a Degree in Business
Accounting from the Divine Word University, Papua New
Guinea in the year 1996.
For almost ten years Mr. Angra worked for Deloitte and Star Business Consultants in Papua New
Guinea. Firstly, with Deloitte chartered Accounting Firm as a senior tax consultant. After Deloitte, he
was employed by Star Business Consultant, a national accounting firm in Papua New Guinea as a
senior manager in charge of business and taxation services within the firm.
Mr. Angra was also previously engaged by AusAID through Cardno Acil as a regional accountant
for the Momase and Southern Regions of Papua New Guinea by building the financial and
operational capacity of the PNG Electoral Commission for the new LPV Voting System during the
2007 and 2012 General Elections. Furthermore, he was involved in successfully implementing the
LPV system during the 2007 and 2012 General Elections.
Prior to joining PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd. in October 2015 and becoming
one of their pioneer employees, he was first employed by Eurest (PNG) Catering and Services Ltd.
as a tax and compliance manager from 2013 to 2014.

JOSHUA
A New Zealand-born Australian citizen; Mr. Joshua
Ratcliffe, has a nearly 30-year connection both
personally and professionally with Papua New Guinea.
Now, highly skilled in remote life support services and operations, crisis management, logistics and
people management, Joshua is currently serving as the General Manager for PNG Mining And
Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd.
Upon completing his studies in commercial cookery, Joshua later went on to gain valuable
experience in the food service industry in multiple five star hotels and restaurants throughout
Queensland. and moved into new project development and operations management in the worldrenowned Queensland seafood industry.
In 2010, during the beginning of the construction phase of PNG LNG managing catering and
services, Mr. Ratcliffe move to the remote FIFO sector of Papua New Guinea during the early
construction phases for The Alliance Group. This enabled Joshua to merge his knowledge of
operations, food service and new projects as well as reconnect with his roots in Papua New Guinea.
Joshua later moved on to work alongside many of Papua New Guineas biggest companies in
drilling exploration and oil & gas production as well as Papua New Guinea and Australian
immigration & government projects to provide remote support services on behalf of Eurest PNG, a
subsidiary of The Compass Group.

Starting his early school years in Papua New Guinea he later then relocated to Australia to
complete his studies.
Joshua has operated many successful LANDCO-owned support contracts that are providing
support to projects operated by Chiyoda & Japan Gas, Exxon Mobil, Santos (PNG) formerly Oil
Search (PNG), Talisman Energy Ltd. Horizon Oil Ltd. Inter Oil Ltd. and Ok-Tedi Mining Ltd. in the
Western Province, Central Province, Manus Island, Gulf, Hela and Southern Highlands Provinces.
As PNG Mining And Petroleum Hospitality Services Ltd. was formed, Joshua played a pivotal role in
ensuring that the contracts, people and systems on the ground were being protected and ratified
and the level of service expectations were initiated and maintained from the very day the contracts
were handed over.
Having been with the company since its formation and having overseen nearly all of its field
operation from the very beginning, Joshua is both personally and professionally passionate about
empowering and motivating young Papua New Guineans to reach their true potential and to
continuously work to show that Papua New Guinean LANDCO's can operate to a globallyrecognized standard to assist in gaining international investment in Papua New Guinea and
providing secure and reliable outcomes and opportunities for the future generations of the
traditional landowners.
Now living in Cairns, Australia with his family, Joshua in his own time, is personally passionate about
food, travel, technology and media creation. He is also a well-travelled and qualified professional
photographer.
